Martin Cash (1808-1877)

Martin Cash was a famous convict bushranger who was born in County Wicklow, Ireland. He was transported to Tasmania in 1827 for his involvement in highway robbery. Cash escaped from prison multiple times and became known for his audacious and daring exploits. His life was filled with numerous adventures, and he eventually received a conditional pardon in 1843. Cash's memoir, "The Adventures of Martin Cash," chronicles his life as a bushranger.

Sarah O'Hare (1971-)

Sarah O'Hare, also known by her married name Sarah Murdoch, is an Australian model and actress from Sorell. She gained international recognition for her work with prominent fashion brands such as Ralph Lauren, Chanel, and Victoria's Secret. O'Hare has appeared on the covers of renowned fashion magazines like Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. In addition to her successful modeling career, she has worked as a television presenter and producer.

Peter Cundall (1927-)

Peter Cundall is an Australian horticulturist, television presenter, and conservationist who was born in Sorell. He gained popularity as the host of the long-running gardening program "Gardening Australia" on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Cundall has dedicated his life to promoting organic gardening and environmental sustainability. He is widely regarded as a gardening expert and has authored several books on the subject.

Andy Bennett (1955-)

Andy Bennett is an Australian archaeologist and historian hailing from Sorell. He is known for his extensive research and discoveries in the field of Tasmanian Aboriginal archaeology. Bennett has made significant contributions to the understanding of Tasmania's indigenous people, their culture, and their history. He has served as the curator of the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston and has written numerous publications on Tasmanian archaeology.

Shane Broad (1967-)

Shane Broad is an Australian politician born in Sorell. He is a member of the Australian Labor Party and has served in the Tasmanian House of Assembly since 2010. Broad represents the electorate of Braddon and has held various parliamentary positions, including Shadow Minister for Primary Industries and Water. He is actively involved in advocating for rural communities and addressing environmental issues in Tasmania.
